RESULTS

Well well dear readers, I'm sorry to have abandoned you for so long! Problems with internet connections and the like have forced my silence, but now I can reveal my IB results...

I did good! I got 38 out of a possible 45, with a 7 in environmental systems, 6s in History, English, Spanish and Philosophy, and a 5 in maths. Add to that 2 bonus points, and voila! I'm going to university!

I was really worried that I hadn't made my 6 in History, but luckily I did so I'm off to York in October!

Although I met my offer, one of my best friends missed her's - by one point. It's so unfair because she worked so hard, which was, if I'm honest, extremely difficult for her! The offer from York really motivated her and it was great to see her try so desperately - but it was a kick in the teeth to miss by one measly mark.

But all is not lost. She did better than they wanted in her degree subject, and so she's asked York to let her in anyway. The trouble is, she may not find out whether she can go to York until the A Level results come out; the 27th of August! After waiting all this time, she may have to wait another 8/9 weeks.

Many people at my school didn't get their firm or insurance, which is so sad, especially for those like my friend that missed by one or two points. But we are told they may still have a chance, so we will have to wait and see.

Other news - we had our first, last and only full dress and tech rehearsal for ROADS the Musical yesterday, which went relatively well. The really irritating this is that although the theatre is not being used by anyone else until our last night (Saturday), we are not allowed in to rehearse! It is very annoying, because it would be nice to be able to rehearse until we are absolutely sure of ourselves. But hey ho, we'll just have to manage it!

So...Opening Night is tonight, and the Last Night is tomorrow - I hope you to see some of you lovely lot there! http://http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=GULBENKIAN&organ_val=3217&schedule=list&event_val=4460
